Regular Pilates practice improves body alignment, core strength, flexibility, and more importantly teaches your brain how to use your muscles effectively for anything you do in your daily life. It is that connection and control of the mind over the body that makes Pilates not just exercise but a road to better health.

I am a qualified BASI® Pilates Instructor, based in Richmond, London. I trained in classical ballet for years in my native Madrid, following the Spanish Royal Conservatory of Dance and the Royal Academy of Dancing programs, and even attended an in-house course at the Royal Ballet School in London in 1990. Recurrent knee injuries took me away from dancing completely and it wasn't until I was in my thirties that I was able to make peace with my body again and started practising Yoga and Pilates. When I discovered BASI (Body Arts and Science International), founded by Rael Isacowitz, I knew it was the right Pilates school for me and I embarked in the amazing journey of teaching Pilates, which I am truly passionate about. I believe Pilates can benefit everyone, independently of age and fitness form. I have a caring and friendly approach to teaching and ensure individual needs are considered when guiding people through their movement.

Book a private induction session so we can set out your goals and go through any injuries, aches or conditions. It is a great opportunity to cover some principles we will follow during the classes and get to know each other. I will be inviting you to book these sessions throughout the evolution of your practice, to evaluate and discuss your progress. These are 30 minute, online sessions, offered for free to new and existing clients. In-person sessions can also be arranged upon request.
You can choose to book single classes or save by buying in advance a package of 10 classes to use at anytime.
My advice is that you practice Pilates regularly to really experience its benefits and feel the difference in your body and overall wellbeing.

Since joining Maria’s Pilates online classes 4 months ago, I have become noticeably more flexible and toned. She is great at demonstrating the positions and movements and subtlety describing how I can improve my technique. It’s become a good way to start my week.
